About the book >.>.> Please go please go said Gunga Din; it was one thirty in the morning and a dozen or so carp anglers had just partaken in the delights of Indian Cuisine. The conversation had as it always does at this time of night swung round to what was going to happen tomorrow; some would be moving some going home others arriving. Those who’d got it right would be staying put and hoping for more action. The restaurant was empty except for our table and had been for some time. Roger checked the After Eight packets his fears confirmed; all gone. “Please go”. We glanced at each other gave the nod and attempted to extract ourselves from the maroon velvet seats not easy after a dozen pints of the liquid lifesaver. A couple of hours before it had been Shirley who’d been asking us to leave. “Let’s have those glasses you fishermen”; now there was nothing else for it we’d have to go back to the lake. We climbed over the gate to the car park as quiet as mice; in other words the whole of the south of England knew the loonies were back. Bruce would be asleep in the Cottage Bay so we decided to give him the moose call just to let him know we had returned back safely. ‘Moooooose’ everyone shouted in unison. He must have nearly jumped through the top of his bivvy. We all fell about laughing and continued up the car park. We donned our boots and went back for tea.
