Our time came in World War II to prove that we were worthy of the freedom that had been passed down to us. Our time came to earn the right for our children and grandchildren to be free. I am very proud to have been a part of that effort. I am especially proud of the contribution made by our unit the 439th Troop Carrier Group; which consisted of our Group Headquarters Squadron and the 91st 92d 93d and 94th Troop Carrier Squadrons. We are proud to have joined the British in their fight to hold the line against the evil tide of the Nazis and of our part in helping the French Dutch Belgians Poles and others in their struggle to regain their freedom. It was a massive and remarkable undertaking in cooperation-nations working together-and it will stand in history as a highlight in man’s struggle to be free.
