About the book >.>.> Professor Stephen Farthing RA is an artist and lecturer who was a tutor in painting at the Royal College of Art from 1980 to 1990 before serving as Ruskin Master of Drawing at the University of Oxford and Professorial Fellow of St Edmund Hall Oxford until 2000. Farthing represented Britain at the S?o Paulo Biennale in 1989 and was elected Royal Academician in 1998. He was executive director of the New York Academy of Art from 2000 to 2004 when he was appointed Rootstein Hopkins Research Chair of Drawing at the University of the Arts London. He is Honorary Curator of the Royal Academy Collections and Chairman of the Royal Academy Exhibitions Committee. His previous books include Art. Ed Webb-Ingall is a London-based filmmaker and holds a research position with the chair of drawing at Chelsea School of Art and Design. He has produced films that have been screened worldwide at film festivals and arts institutions. Noted projects have taken place at South London Gallery Tate Liverpool and the British Film Institute. He runs collaborative filmmaking workshops and has written extensively on filmmaking as a means to build and explore communities through collective and non-traditional practices.
