About the book >.>.> HISTORY OF THE ROYAL REGIMENT OF ARTILLERY Although many books have been written des- cribing the activities of parts of the Royal Regiment in the twentieth century no history of the Royal Artillery has been published since General Sir John Headlam wrote of the period to 1914. To provide a comprehensive account of all the Regiment’s many activities and achieve- ments since 1914 the Royal Artillery Institution has embarked on a series of volumes to be published over a number of years. The first volume has been written by General Sir Martin Farndale KCB Commander-in- Chief British Army of the Rhine covering the Regiment’s activities in France and Flanders during the First World War. Drawn from many hitherto unpublished sources it forms the defini- tive account of the Regiment’s part in that epic struggle. (MP)
