An abundance of styles and techniques seems to have been forever at the ceramist’s disposal. One naturally assumes that decisions have always been consciously made regarding ways of representing a subject known to us all so intimately. This assumption however may be largely a consequence of our age a period in which numerous exhibitions of historical objects and countiess images of artifacts in books maga zines and even digital media have made every moment from the past seem accessible at once.
