About the book >.>.> SOE SYLLABUS: LESSONS IN UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE WORLD WAR II tells how in the early years of the war SOE set up top-secret Special Training Schools (STSs) to instruct prospective agents in the black arts of camouflage sabotage and subterfuge. By the end of 1941 an international network of schools was in operation accommodated in secluded country houses in locations ranging from the Highlands of Scotland to Singapore and Canada. Agents were taught a vast range of sabotage and assassination techniques as well as how to arm and otherwise assist Resistance movements in enemy-occupied countries. Perhaps most chilling of all they learnt methods of survival and suicide to deploy in the event of Gestapo interrogation. The training materials are reproduced here in full for you to experience how agents were taught in a classroom setting to wreak maximum destruction in war-torn Europe and beyond. Denis Rigden’s introduction provides a wealth of information about the growth of SOE the STSs the personalities and the deadly methods of ‘ungentlemanly warfare’. (SP)
