About the book >.>.> Maria Vittoria Marini Clarelli: By the end of this interview the readers will know why we can’t talk about your last work yet. The penultimate one is called Zero. Why? Does this mean something like a fresh start in order to move towards something new? Daniele Puppi: Zero is a magical combination of space and time. In some ways it is a completely new work an extreme one which is different from the “Fatiche” as far as the practice and the technologies used are concerned and yet “contains” them at the same time. Zero is the beginning of an adventure or perhaps its sheer course its continuous and unremitting development it might be the end of something too of a way of working of my own of a practice of doing. Zero may be all or nothing at all. Here’s how it came into being: I was walking in Benedetta Spalletti’s art gallery located on the first floor of a late nineteenth-century mansion with vaulted frescoed ceilings in Pescara. I was ponder- ing how challenging it would be to set up a work in such a space so filled with images permanent works and signs. It would be appropriate to take away rather than to add if anything-I thought- somehow it should be cleared out; but how? Suddenly there was a sharp thud a door closed all of a sudden maybe because of the draught or maybe it was Valeria the gallery assistant dealing with telefax and telephones in the office it does n’t matter. What’s really important is the feeling that the sound roused in me in that very moment I saw doors and windows banging insanely all over (MP)
