About the book >.>.> Born to a music loving family in Essex Nan Dalton spent the evacuation in Dorset. On her return to London she trained and worked as a secretary with Lloyds Underwriters. On marrying she and her husband moved to South Devon where her own children grew up spending much time on Dartmoor and the coast. Her first contact with poetry was as a child performer at music festivals in London but she didn’t start writing until attending classes at Newton Abbot and Torquay. She was introduced to the NPF by Anne Born poet historian and translater. She achieved some success after joining the Estuary Writers’ Workshop in 1986 enjoying the criticism and camaraderie. Now retired Nan presents music programmes for Torbay Gramophone Society and travels. (LL)
