About the book >.>.> These doors open to reveal new thoughts and new notions; paths to creativity; paths that lead to great plans funny ideas. and happy thoughts. About eight years ago we both came to the con- clusion that we were really missing this sense of restfulness. We were fed up with living lives that were too busy and were suffocating under the weight of plans. And if we’re being honest here we also seemed to be accumulating problems. We rumi- nated worried and felt ceaselessly tired and stressed out. It got to the point where we felt we were living in a snow globe constantly bombarded with cold calculations and thoughts. We had vaguely heard about the benefits of mindfulness or the act of focusing on the here and now with attention and acceptance. So we com- pleted an eight-week mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) course. We learned that you don’t always have to be doing something that it is worthwhile to simply acknowledge the activity within the snow globe and appreciate the beauty of the snowflakes. That we can quiet our minds. If we just do nothing. If we just remain in the moment. If we just observe. And that’s how mindfulness came into our lives. A lot has changed since we took that first course in 2008. Mindfulness practice is growing rapidly worldwide. (MP)
