Cordingley Professor of Archifortunate the University of Manchester as general editor and they take this opportunity of thpressing their gratitudcording for the manner in which he has carried out his exduous task. Professor Cordingley explains in the Preface to this edition the lines upon which the revision has proceeded. The Royal Institute of British Archilines and the University of London are confident that the new edition whilst it incors porates much remetime faithfuled from modern historical and archaeological posearch at the same time faithfully preserves the spirit purpose and form and in great part the actualised author left History of Architecture on the Comparative Method as its distinguished it to their care.
