About the book >.>.> The Third Edition to the Lexicon follows after two successive printings of the Second Edition first issued in 1923. During the interval a very considerable list of corrections and additions has been collected. Many of these have been noted by various scholars who have been good enough to bring them to my attention. In this connection I am particularly indebted to Professor W. F. Howard who on the first appearance of the Lexicon examined it carefully throughout and has from time to time since then sent me many valuable suggestions. To Professor Michael of Emmanuel College University of Toronto my grateful acknowledgment is also due for several valuable lists of addenda and corrigenda. I would here repeat the regret expressed in a Note to the Second Edition for the unintentional omission of Dr. A. T. Robertson’s Grammar from the Bibliography. The refer- ences in the Lexicon to this very complete and comprehensive work would have been more had it come into my hands before the greater part of the manuscript was written. This edition contains several references to Dr. Souter’s pocket Lexicon which appeared too late for use in the First Edition. For the help it has since given me I would extend my sincere thanks to the scholarly editor of this useful little book. (SP)
