He has tried to show the development on the Great Western Railway of bridges and via- ducts from those of Brunel to the mid-20th century. There are sections showing the main types of footbridge signal box and engine shed that were to be found and an appendix contai- ning a miscellaneous collection of pictures from lamp posts to lavatories.
