About the book >.>.> I HAVE A collection such as this; it ranges from exquisite hand embroi- dered silk ribbons bought in the Portobello Road flea market in the 1960’s to my father’s old-fashioned neckties from well-worn and ripped Chinese skirts to children’s tartan kilts bought in a charity shop. I have lived with and added to this collection for years occasionally using tiny pieces for my embroidered pictures but more often pinning them to my studio wall as inspiration for designing fabric collections or just to brighten dull days. If you’re like I am you will say to yourself everytime you add to your semi-precious collection ‘I’ll save that and do something with it sometime’. Well now is the sometime and here is the something crazy patchwork. Crazy patchwork uses irregular scraps of beautiful fabrics. And all kinds of textiles-velvets silks and tartans – are used together. (LL)
