About the book >.>.> We present this book with some trepidation because as some people move deeper into dynamic processes like the Enneagram it often happens that knowledge overtakes experience. My concern for these people is that for these people the information they receive about the Enneagram might be moving them forward at a rate faster and deeper than their experience can deal with. If the Enneagram were merely a clever scheme for categorizing people or a stimulating intel- lectual game I would be far less concerned about the consequences of what I write. I would also probably not be writing this book. The Enneagram however is a very powerful spiritual tool. And it can be truly profitable as the conversion tool it was meant to be only if somehow the reader’s experience is at least keeping pace with the information. Usually I discuss this material only in individual spiritual direc- tion where I can get feedback at each step along the way and guide the process in dialogue with the other person. Nevertheless it is important and valuable to present the En- neagram as I believe it was meant to be presented as a tool for conversion. Therefore as you read these pages I ask you to study and reflect on the Enneagram not just as an interesting tool for self- knowledge but as a tool for the transformation of consciousness. (LL)
