About the book >.>.> Continually exists in the Christian life-the believer knows that he belongs to Christ though he still lives in the “old age”; if he is to “actualize” within himself what he knows himself to be then his faith must continually be renewed. The “inner man” is not a part of the “natural” man but the spiritual side of the believer in so far as it belongs to the “new man” that is to Christ though it cannot be completely identified with him. On the other hand the believer already has the “new man” because of his membership in the body of Christ. So when the Apostle prays that the recipients of his letter may be “strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man” he is asking that they may have the power to realize within themselves what they already are and the Spirit is the agent through whom this will come about.
