About the book >.>.> To visualize the human figure in the infinite variety of poses which the human body takes in action-and to draw these poses-is the most difficult most essential skill the artist must learn. Traditionally this learning has been acquired through patient study and drawing from the living model. However even when using a living model the artist has to rely on his mind’s eye his memory to capture and store these details of bodily movement. This Innovative book adds a new dimension to the reader’s study of figure drawing. Over 1500 action photographs recorded by rapid sequence photography “freeze” the female figure in a variety of movements and reveal aspects of these movements which ordinarily go unnoticed in the life class. These photographs also provide anatomical information on the moving figure Information which may be invisible in a stationary pose and difficult to draw strictly from the living model in rapid motion. The whole spectrum of acton is represented here: walk hop sidle sweep lift tug phone dance climb towel bend sit crawl toss-catch fall-rise stretch and turn over. These actions are executed by different models and caught by the camera at different angles. As an artist’s supplement to his life drawing studies this book is an invaluable asset. This unique work allows the artist to visualize those physical actions that only the camera can capture and maintain with perfect accuracy.
