The library does not only provide actors and artists with the material they require it seeks to educate the new erations of artists and students and to promote folk art traditions. The library strives to evoke the public interest in artistic traditions by arranging displays of books and other items in own premises as well as at theatres exhibition halls and cultural centres. The exhibition “Folk Costumes of the Peoples of Russia in Graphic Arts of the 18th-19th Centuries” acquaints viet and foreign visitors with an impressive collection from the State Central Theatre Library funds. It includes rks by Russian and foreign artists depicting dwellings and the mode of life of various peoples of Russia.
