Yet my life while ruled by the certainty that my purpose and fulfilment lies in know-ing loving and serving God has been and still is an urgent quest to find him a quest that is still a questioning. Nearing the end of my long pil-grimage looking back on joyous discovery and woeful backsliding still I ponder with wondering awe on the omnipresent mystery of the Holy. which gives meaning to human existence and which has been the lodestar of my journey. Some of the questions that arise in my mind lead it into clearer light. Others voice my incomprehension of mystery beyond my ken. I am still as in the catechism class of my now far-distant childhood seeking deeper understanding both of the questions I ask and of the answers I hear. I appre-hend with joyful hope the evidences of God’s design of wisdom power and loving purpose in the world that he has created and that he has transformed by becoming incarnate in it. I am certain that the purpose of my own life as of every human life is to be conformed to that master plan of divine love revealed in Jesus Christ. Yet my mind also finds in this world of created and redeemed reality strange perplexing riddles. To some of them it can give at least a conjectural explanation. To others beyond its comprehension.
