About the book >.>.> On retirement to Burnham-on-Sea in November 1979 I felt at once the need for a history of the town and of its neighbour Highbridge. However in 1986 I had to plan to move to Salibsury so I had to abandon the idea of a full length history from 1066 and decided instead to try to produce a booklet which would cover most interesting and of course most fully documented period from 1790 to I do hope that this small work will be of interest to old inhabitants newcomers and above all to schoolchildren for whom a knowledge of their home area’s development and history can be such a stimulus and an interest.
