About the book >.>.> In 1940 the small team of intelligence officers attached to Al(g) and Al(k) rapidly became overwhelmed by the quantity of wrecks they had to report on and the number prisoners to interrogate. Understandably during the hectic days of August 15th 16th and 18th errors and omissions were made in the brief Air Intelligence reports. It is easy to forget that at that moment Britain was anticipating that a full-scale German invasion would take place at any moment – there were more pressing matters than recording the details of Luftwaffe markings! Nevertheless the intelligence officers continued to submit their reports regularly and it is those brief reports that we must rely on to detail the Luftwaffe’s losses in the UK. (LL)
