About the book >.>.> One of the most striking differences between the Luftwaffe and the opposing air forces in World War II was the widespread use of badges and emblems identifying individual Luftwaffe units some of these insignia surviving until the last days of the conflict. The potential number of these badges is enormous as several thousand units are known to have existed at one time or another. These ranged in size from full-blown Luftflotten-Air Fleets-down to small temporary groupings of a rotte-pair of aircraft. Many but by no means all proudly carried their own badge on their aircraft (and in many cases on their ground equipment and vehicles as well) and it is these that form the substance of this book. (LL)
