About the book >.>.> This book began when I wrote an article on the remarkable collection of characters my wife and I met when we first came to live in the hamlet of Membland on the southwest Devon coast. This then brought to mind all the other interesting people I have met who have had coloured my life and so the seeds of this book began to germinate. I have had a charmed time through school my work in the forestry and timber businesses and with my family. My brother and sister much older than me were artists and involved in politics and a bit of that must have. (LL)
