About the book >.>.> The suffixes used continued as S for sprung frame C for competition and CS for the two combined and were added to the basic 16M. 18 G3L and G80 There was a new gearbox for the whole range for 1952 and the Matchless single’s magneto moved in front of the cylinder to be as for the AJS. Otherwise there were few alterations until 1956 when the rigid- frame models were dropped and a larger 593 cc twin was introduced as the 30 and G11. Prior to this around 1954 the twin had also been produced in an enlarged 550 cc form known as the G9B or G10 and sold for export only. Some home-market 20 and G9 models were later bored out to this capacity by their owners when it was found that suitable pistons could be obtained. AMC caused some confusion with its model numbering at this point as the 16MC and GLC both continued but in a sprung frame while the 16MCS and GICLS changed to a shorter 85.5 mm stroke engine. The original engine was built for trials while the second was for scrambles its cogine dimension was also adopted by the lacs and Gacs scramblers Only the road singles and one competition 150 kept to the old 93 mun stroke engine During 1956 she Burman gearbox of old was changed for the AMC one aho used by Norton and for 1958 the road singles changed to alternator electrics. This also occurred on the standard twins bus not on two further 593 cc models which came in for that year. These were the CS and CSR models with the first being sports scrambice and the second a fast #sports road machine. During 1958 the 248 cc light single was launched as the 14 and G2 with just the badges siguish of the other.
