Many of these are from the Henry Wykes Studio. The worlds first photographic image dates from 1825 photographs before 1860 are now rare. The earliest record of Exeter from The Isca Collection is dated at 1861 and shows the butchers shop uth Street. It is remarkable that an actual dated advert confirms this and both are shown.
