About the book >.>.> Professor Sir Harry Hinsley OBE. MA. FBA Fellow of St John’s College former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge and Emeritus Professor of the History of International Relations in the University of Cambridge spent the war at the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park where his work took him to the USA and the Far East and brought him into close touch with some of the other British intelligence organisations. Professor Hinsley has published works on Hitler’s strategy on sovereignty on British foreign policy and on the history of the international system. C.A.G. Simkins CB. CBE. MA Was a scholar of New College Oxford. He obtained First Class Honours in Modern History in 1934 and then became a barrister at Lincolns Inn. During the war he served in the Rifle Brigade and was taken prisoner in north Africa in 1941. From 1945 to 1971 he was attached to the War Office and the Ministry of Defence. He was a student at the Imperial Defence College in 1958. (SP)
