About the book >.>.> On the way my friend and I talked about quilts and how they sometimes get (mis)used in everyday ways like this and how it is kind of unusual to see evidence of it in public. I usually see quilts being “mistreated” at home by myself or other family members but not this badly and not in public and I could not believe that this quilt had not yet been rescued by someone as this restaurant is on the main street of the downtown shopping district. I do know of people mostly avid quilt collectors who regularly “rescue” quilts from situations like these. They keep a pile of cheap blankets and/or quilts made in global sweatshops and sold at discount stores in their car trunks and whenever they see a quilt that they feel is being “mistreated” they try to buy the quilt from the owner or trade them a blanket to mis/use instead.
