About the book >.>.> As one of the museum’s most important partners it has been our great pleasure to help make this unparal- leled exhibition possible. For in addition to providing aid for major acquisitions as well as conservation projects and educational offers the St?delscher Museums-Verein also contributes to the realization of exhibitions recently for example the extensive Van Gogh show in 2019. The tremendous success of that exhibition and especially the reflection of its success in the overwhelm- ing public interest are confirmations of how indispens- able this form of support is. To guarantee the planning and continuation of this highly regarded exhibition programme in the future we initiated the association “St?delfreunde 1815” whose members apply their efforts specifically to supporting this aspect of the museum’s activities. After all exhibitions that attract widespread notice have repeatedly proven capable of sparking en- thusiasm for our work and recruiting new friends of art with whose help we can set so much in motion: the dis- covery of art the experience of art making art possible in the first place. That has been the raison d’?tre of our St?delscher Museums-Verein for 122 years! (OS)
