About the book >.>.> In 1975 I visited the Rollright Stone Circle near Oxford England. As I stepped into this beautiful circle of oddly-complexioned standing stones my conscious- ness was altered. Meditation in the middle of the stone circle was deep and memorable. With recently acquired college degrees in psychology and design and a fascination that such a space obviously carefully designed could immedi- ately change one’s state of consciousness I felt a sense of predestination. On that day I resolved to study the design techniques used to build ancient monuments and then design and build a stone circle myself to see if a new contemporary sacred space could alter and uplift consciousness. The Ellis Hollow Stone Circle the first modern energetically and astronomi- cally aligned stone circle in the United States was completed in 1977. One early visitor to the site reported ?As I approached the upright stone I suddenly felt that I had entered an area of high energy an awareness of a special dimension that heightened my perceptions as well as an intensified awareness of energy flows in my body. Walking around the stone at close range I felt several surges of energy. I later found out that the areas where I had felt this surge seemed to correlate where ley lines ran through the area. As I walked away from the stone circle I was aware of how balanced whole light and happy I felt.?. Our world needs more sacred spaces like this that can evoke the spiritual expe- rience.
