Though the events recalled took place long ago the impact of involvement from the very outbreak of War till the final surrender in such historic occasions remains quite unforgettable. For all who took part at sea there were many most testing and trying times and only the fortunate survived. I could not have contemplated recording these great events without years of passage of time. These memories are dedicated to my Dearest Betts for her invaluable support and encouragement.
