This first edition of Shipwright opens with an exclusive interview with the Director of the National Maritime Museum Greenwich in which he discusses the new wing for the Museum and the preparations for the model collections at Chatham Historic Dockyard. This is followed by an impressive selection of articles that include models of real and fictional ships diorama and waterline models restoration projects and workshop tools and machinery. General articles range from an assessment of archaeological finds to lines plans and models of the ships of Charles Wilkes ?S Exploring Expedition 1838-42 which are held by the Smithsonian Institute.
