About the book >.>.> I THINK I am fairly imaginative yet I can not see in my mind’s eye a lady from say Ruritania landing for a few hours in England and finding herself walking about with four or five British Girl Guides hanging on to her hands and skirts or sitting down with never less than two or three Brownies on her lap. Yet that was what happened to the Chief Guide when she landed in Algiers to make the acquaintance of the French Girl Guides there. The incident was only typical of the wonderful friendliness quite apart from mere courtesy with which the whole of our embassy of five hundred and forty Scout and Guide leaders were received not only in Algiers but in every country and colony that we visited in the course of our Mediterranean cruise.
