About the book >.>.> In this remarkable history Adolf Burger provides the full story of his wartime experiences and his role in Operation Bernhard. He describes in vivid detail his ordeals in different concentration camps before he was enlisted to work alongside other highly qualified experts who were forced to forge currency and other documents. The work they produced was so precise it left even experienced counterfeit specialists speechless. Some 142 inmates from more than 13 nationalities worked in the counterfeiting workshop. Most were finally liberated on 5 May 1945; of these only a few are still alive today. Of the twelve liberated Czech prisoners only the author of this book survives. Immediately following his liberation Burger took numerous photos of his fellow inmates and of the Ebensee concentration camp. Many of those images are reproduced in this book. In addition Burger has collected evidence about the horrors of the Nazi regime throughout his life (SP)
