About the book >.>.> This book chronicles Abdullah’s development and national-level political struggle before he attained the peak of power with his appointment as prime minister on 31 October 2003. It details how he patiently and resiliently faced up to the trials and challenges whilst successfully negotiating the many twists and turns of the arduous path to this position. Thanks to his forbearance he was duly appointed as Dr Mahathir’s successor a feat his three predecessors as deputy prime minister-Tan Sri Musa Hitam Tun Ghafar Baba and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-failed to achieve. Musa resigned after an acrimonious conflict with Dr Mahathir in early 1986. Musa later joined forces with Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Abdullah was similarly aligned) to challenge Dr Mahathir’s UMNO leadership in 1987. Unfortunately their Team B was vanquished.
