About the book >.>.> Geoffrey Bray and his friends Mike Kick and Sam Conolly to create a virtual journey down the line on computer. The project started as low key filming by drone along part of the route coupled with the use of still photographs to illustrate a trip down the line (as in Chapters 6 7 and 8 of this volume). Following discussions this project has blossomed; the plan is now to produce a commercial black and white film with actors to tell a story of the towns and key features and some of the history of the line. It is hoped that will be on sale as a DVD with the profits donated to charity. The chosen charity is Hope for Tomorrow of which Geoffrey is a patron and their website is www.hopefortomorrow.org.uk for those interested in knowing more. I would like to point out that the use of ‘Devon & Somerset Railway (or D&SR)’ and ‘Taunton to Barnstaple line’ mean the same thing to me and are used interchangeably in the script. In reality very few people in later years ever referred to it as the Devon & Somerse Railway but I quite like the original name especially as it links m two favourite counties. (MP)
