About the book >.>.> All three volumes have been devoid of colour photographs (bar the front covers but the decision to leave the colour shots oot was a practical one from the publishing and printing perspective. However during my research I have collected a number of colour photographs. Neil and I have discussed purting together a colour album of the line (perhaps with some other local lines also featured). This will not be Volume 4 but a stand alone work that may well appear in the next few years. During the compilation of this third volume I read the sad news that Peter Barnfield had passed away in mid-2018. For those of you who have volumes 1 and 2. you will be aware that Peter’s collection of photographs enhanced them whether it was station views or trains in the landscape. I am grateful to him for being so helpful in my project. Peter was not only a photographer he was also an artist and one example of his work is reproduced right based on a photograph which also appears in this volume on page 680. Also Charlie Fennamore who kindly provided the Morebath train register for Volume 2 sadly passed away late in 2018. (MP)
