About the book >.>.> By order of the supreme commander of the Wehrmacht the III. (german- isches) SS-Panzer-Korps was activated on 30 March 1943. The German army’s great wartime manpower losses forced utilization of all European sources in order to continue the war on the greatly expanded fronts. The first contingent stemming in part from the replacement battalion of SS-Panzer-Grenadier- Regiment 9 “Germania” which was stationed in the Netherlands arrived at the training area at Debica in Poland. Effective 19 April 1943 the headquarters of the Waffen-SS ordered the formation of the III. (germanisches) SS-Panzer-Korps at the Grafenw?hr train- ing area. The first contingent that had been assembled at Debica/Heidelager was moved to Grafenw?hr. In the first organization lists and strength reports SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Division “Wiking” appears along with SS-Panzer- Grenadier-Freiwilligen-Division “Nordland”.
