About the book >.>.> Dr Albert Gu?risse was an M.O. in the Belgian Army at the fall of France. Escaping to England he was trained as an agent given a false French- Canadian background and a nom- de-guerre-Pat O’Leary-and soon returned to the south of France to act as a courier picking up escapees. On his first mission he was arrested but soon escaped and joined an escape or- ganisation in Marseille which before long he commanded. He set up radio communication with London and began transporting British airmen from the country forty and fifty at a time ordering a boat from Gibraltar whenever necessary. His organisation covered all France and even extended into Italy and Belgium. In March 1943 O’Leary was be- trayed by one of his own agents. In the hands of the Gestapo he under- went prolonged torture of a pecu- liarly diabolic kind. Locked naked for hours at a time in a refrigerator and then viciously beaten. (SP)
