An Osmiroid fountain pen with a B4 nib may be used. Write on a good quality writing paper lined foolscap is suitable with ordinary ink not indian ink which is too thick for sharp writing. The working surface or drawing board should be sloped so that you are not crouched over it. Sit comfortably dip your pen and wipe off the surplus ink from the top of the nib with a pen wiper. Present the pen to the paper. If you are holding it correctly the broad edge should make an angle of 30? to the horizontal. Make the first stroke a hairline going up to the right. Then pull the pen down in a vertical stroke to form a broad stem. (LL)
